30+ years ago in college, working nights in grocery, we used to go to asst mgrs house to party and play poker. He used to slice up a spam, put a pineapple disc between each and toaster oven the hell out of it. I dont know if there was any additional prep or ingredients.

Was either the beer or the middle of the night, or both, but I remember it was pretty damn good

Try Spam fritters. Make a batter mix and dunk some sliced Spam in and then fry in some oil. Very nice.

Also. Pineapple is so underrated. It’s great with ham, gammon or bacon. Drained of excess moisture, lightly grilled, then served with ham, gammon etc... is fantastic.

I like making spam salad sammages. Like tuna salad but with spam. M ust add chunks of diced up dill pickle (M aille Cornichons) and use Miracle Whip . I’d suggest doing it with the other half of the tin.

This reminds me of something. About this time last month I was st my local Costco (with what felt like all of Dayton) and folks were stocking up on this and than. The spam was nearly gone, but they had a pallet of 5lb logs of summer sausage that was basically untouched. I was surprised since it’s nearly as shelf stable and more palatable..

mmmmmm. Spam egg and cheese on an english muffin. So so so good. Make sure you cook the spam until good and crispy. Thick pieces not as good as thinner. And Vermont white cheddar cheese on the sandwich is best.
